Snake Survivors
You steer a glowing snake that glides in any direction, and you never attack anything head on. Bring your head back round to touch your own body, and every shape trapped inside that loop is crushed. Survive the stage, crush the warden three times, and the run is yours.

How do you play?
- Steer - On a phone, put your thumb anywhere on the arena and drag; a stick appears under it and the snake follows. On a PC, the arrow keys or WASD steer. The snake never stops, and it turns in smooth curves rather than right angles.
- Close a loop - Bring your head back round until it touches your own body. Every shape inside the loop you just drew takes a crush, and the loop has to be a wide one: a tight spin in place does not count.
- Guard the head - Only your head can be hurt. A shape reaching it costs 2 segments, and the snake blinks for a moment while you get away.
- Grow back - Crushed shapes drop gems. Glide over them to grow longer and fill the level bar.
- Pick a card - When the bar is full the game stops and offers three cards. Tap one and the crowd starts moving again.
About this game
There is one move. Draw a circle with yourself. Whatever is inside when the circle closes is gone, and it leaves gems behind.
Your tail is your health, and the length counter on the screen is simply how long you are. The snake starts at 28 segments. A shape that reaches your head bites off 2 of them, and then you blink for 1.4 seconds while nothing can touch you, which is just long enough to get clear of whatever did it. Drop below 3 segments and the run is over. Gems put the length back: each one is worth a third of a segment, and it fills the bar that brings the next card as well. The longest you can grow is 60 segments, and a longer snake can draw a bigger loop.
Your body is not a wall. Shapes cross it freely, and that is the trick: a crowd chasing your head while you circle cuts the corner and ends up inside the circle you are drawing. Close it then.
Size matters. A loop only crushes if it encloses at least 4,000 square units, roughly a circle with a radius of 36, so spinning tight in one spot crushes nothing, and the shapes that settle inside that spin reach your head soon enough. That is why length is more than health: a long snake can afford a wide loop, a short one struggles to draw one at all, and every gem gives some of that reach back. One closing is one crush. Every shape inside takes a single hit from it, however many there are.
Three kinds of shape walk at you, the same three that fill Neon Survival. The runner is a small, fast bat. The orb is a slime that drifts in a quarter of the way through the stage. The brute is a slow, tough crab that turns up just past halfway, and one loop is not enough for it: it takes two. The stage lasts 2:30 on Calm, 3:00 on Normal and 3:30 on Wild, and then the warden arrives, a giant bat that lunges straight at you. It takes three loops, one hit per loop. Crush it the third time and you have won.
Calm, Normal and Wild change only the crowd - how often shapes arrive, how fast they walk and how many are on screen at once. The snake is identical on all three. Nothing about it gets weaker.
What does it teach?
Planning a route
A loop is a path you choose before you travel it. The habit it builds is looking at where the crowd will be, not where it is now.
Inside and outside
Closing a shape around other shapes is an early and very physical feel for inside, outside and area.
Deciding while the clock is stopped
The cards pause the game. There is time to think, and the choice shapes the rest of the run.
Tips
Circle the crowd, not the shape
A loop around one runner wastes a whole lap. Let a few chase you, then swing wide so they fall inside the circle, because a closing hits everything in it.
The crab comes round twice
A brute survives its first crush. Keep it inside the same curve and close again, rather than chasing a fresh crowd with a half-beaten crab behind you.
Never spin in place
The tightest turn the snake can make is too small to crush anything. Spin there and the crowd settles inside the circle, right next to your head. Keep the loops wide and keep moving.
Pick the weapon for what hurts
If most of your lost length comes from shapes meeting your head, Fangs turns those meetings into bites. If lots of shapes are crossing your body, Spiked tail is the better first weapon.
What age is it for?
From 5
A young child can steer the snake on Calm and learn to swing a wide loop, and nothing punishes them beyond the run ending.
8 to 12
Normal, where the crab needs two loops and choosing between Fangs and Spiked tail starts to matter.
Teenagers and adults
Wild. The crowd that builds towards the 3:30 mark turns the game into reading the whole screen at once.
Accessibility
This one needs steering: a drag on a phone or the keys on a PC, held for the length of a stage, so it cannot be finished with taps alone, and we would rather say so here than let you find out. What it does not need is aiming or fast tapping. The level-up cards are big buttons, none of them is ever disabled, and a run that ends simply ends, with a new one a single tap away.
Playing together
One steers, one calls it
One of you holds the phone, the other watches the crowd and says when to swing round. Swap after every run.
Choose the card together
When the game stops, agree on a card out loud before anyone touches it. Arguing Fangs against Spiked tail is half the fun.
Race on one level
Take turns on the same level and compare how many shapes you crushed. The best is kept per level, so Calm and Wild never compete.
Common questions
Is Snake Survivors free?
Yes, and there is nothing to sign up for or buy.
How do I close a loop?
Steer your head back round until it touches your body. The loop has to enclose at least 4,000 square units, so a tight spin in place does not count, and each closing hits every shape inside it once.
What happens when a shape touches me?
If it touches your head, you lose 2 segments and blink for 1.4 seconds while nothing can hurt you. If it touches your body, nothing happens: shapes cross the body freely, which is how a crowd ends up inside your loop.
How long is a run?
One stage of 2:30 on Calm, 3:00 on Normal or 3:30 on Wild, then the warden. Crush it three times and the run is won.
What do the cards do?
There are six. Fangs bites a shape that touches your head instead of letting it hurt you, and each level bites a tougher shape; Spiked tail hurts shapes that touch your body. Those are the two weapons. Magnet pulls gems in, Swift adds 10% speed and a tighter turn per level, Regrow grows a segment back on its own every 9 seconds, and Shockwave throws the shapes just outside a loop back and stuns them.
How is the score counted?
In shapes crushed. Your best is kept on your device, separately for each level, and every 25 crushed earns coins.
How is it related to Snake and Neon Survival?
It is the Snake family's second game: the same neon snake as classic Snake, up against the three shapes from Neon Survival.
